About this siteDespite the industry's well-documented turmoil, newspapers are still places to do good work — and to be recognized and appreciated for it. My background is primarily as a visual journalist, artist and information architect, but I strive for a 360-degree view when it comes to navigating a newsroom. I’ve coached, coaxed and collaborated with teams of print journalists, video editors and online graphic artists to produce a decade worth of highly creative and consistently award-winning work. Indeed, The Plain Dealer’s track record of success in design, graphics, illustration and photography competitions is the envy of our peers across the state and across the nation. In the newspaper industry, visual journalists are often the innovators. We’re the ones prepared to push against the status quo, to shake dust off old notions of what readers expect. And when visual journalists work together, it's a recipe for real change. That's what this site is all about: To demonstrate that collaboration and supportive leadership can take talent to levels far higher than singular effort alone. Enjoy. |
